Williamsburg, VA

We went to Williamsburg for a long weekend to see Nickolas march in the CYMS Fife and Drum Core. The weather was beautiful. We especially enjoyed walking around all the beautiful gardens. Meilynn was excited to try on anything Colonial. As you can see in the last couple pictures they had a special place for children to explore toys played with in Colonial time. Meilynn's favorite was Hotch Potch. He was a doll that children used to learn their letters. It came with flash cards illustrating the position of the doll for each letter. We learned that the Colonial alphabet had only 24 letters, they didn't have j or u. We ended up buying Hotch Potch to bring home with us.
