Daisy Troop 20455 Investiture Ceremony

Today was Daisy Troop 20455 Investiture Ceremony. There are eight girls in our troop. Two couldn't be there tonight due to illness and prior commitment. It was a very nice ceremony. The girls officially became Daisy Scouts. They had a flag ceremony, sang, talked about the Daisy garden and petals and received their first patches. The girls did a great job! Meilynn just loves Daisy Scouts.

Merry Madagascar ICE!

Merry Madagascar ICE, was held at The Gaylord National Resort on the Patomic. This 15,000-square-foot attraction is a unique, interactive indoor wonderland created entirely of ice. ICE! is created by dozens of artisans who will migrate to the D.C. area from Harbin, China to craft this elaborate attraction out of nearly 2 million pounds of ice. It takes them nearly an entire month of 12-hour shifts to transform the refrigerated tent where the exhibit is held into a remarkable icy wonderland.

Gaylord Resort- Meet and great Dream Works' Characters

Meilynn enjoyed meeting the characters at the Gaylord Resort. She loved seeing Gingy and her gingerbread house. We had fun doing a scavenger hunt for the magic beans. The fountain at the resort even danced to Christmas music. A couple of pictures were left over from the ICE exhibit. We were so happy to see the nativity carved from ice and hear the story of Christ birth. We love how the real meaning of Christmas was remembered. We have started a new Christmas tradition. We will come back to The Gaylord Resort next year to see their new ICE display.
