The Lunar New Year

We celebrated The Lunar New Year by attending our local FWCC(Families With Children from China), Chinese New Year Celebration. This was Meilynn's first celebration with her forever family. The children made crafts, saw the Lion Dance performers, participated in the Lion Dance, had a Chinese dinner, had a puppet show and finished the night with the ribbon dance. Meilynn enjoyed herself, but at times was a little overwhelmed. There were 175 people at the celebration. Before dinner, Meilynn looked at me and said, "Meilynn go home". She made it through the whole celebration. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
Nickolas helped Meilynn make a necklace.

What a smile, Meilynn sure loves her brother.

Look at all those snacks.

Is that Meilynn the Lion Dancer?

Red is the color to wear for good luck.

Protect me from those big bad lions.

I love the ribbon dance.
How do you do this?
