Nickolas spends a day at JA Biztown
JA Biztown is a city that is run by students for a whole day. During the school year they were taught the principles needed to be a residence of JA Biztown for the day. They learned how businesses operate. Nickolas had to decide on a job he wanted to have for the day, have an interview, write checks, make deposits, follow a job description and then carry out the job for a day. Nickolas decided he wanted to be a studio camera operator. It was such a great experience for his class. I was so glad I had the chance to help that day. I was in the restaurant, the kids had to make popcorn and serve drinks for the day. They had to make sure they had inventory and followed their job description. They took out a loan for their store, had to write checks to keep the business running, collect money, make deposits, give payroll checks to their employees and at the end of the pay off their loan. It really gave the kids a great understanding of how things operate in the "real world".

The Kite Festival
The FWCC held it's annual Kite Festival today. It was a great day to fly kites. As you can see from the pictures Nickolas didn't have much luck flying his kite. Meilynn's small kite was great to fly. We enjoyed time with new and old friends.
Nickolas, make sure the kite string is up.
Coming in for a crash landing.
Wow, look how far up my kite is.
Meilynn only left go of her kite once, so we had to chase after it.

Meilynn's First Dentist Appointment
Today I decided not to be the hygienist but to be the mom. Meilynn needed me today to help her feel secure. One of my coworkers, Joni cleaned Meilynn's teeth. Joni was great with Meilynn. The Cat In The Hat even had his teeth cleaned, Joni you are extra special! Everyone enjoyed stopping by and seeing Meilynn. She wouldn't let the dentist give her the exam, but we could see she has three cavities. I guess it is off to the pedodontist for Meilynn.

Bethany Christian Services Picnic to Celebrate Adoption
What a great day we had. Bethany Christian Services planned a special picnic for all the families that have adopted from their agency. Families are formed in many ways, adoption is such a gift we have been given. We are so thankful to have experienced the birth of Nickolas and the adoption of Meilynn. Each experience means the world to us. God has blessed us with two beautiful children whom we love dearly. Brother and sister enjoying the Spring day.
